Kash phool

This is one of my favorite pics. Technically this is Kans grass known to me in bengali as Kashphool. But we bring it into the flower family…….. donno why…… Tomato belongs to the fruit family as well. Usually among Bengalis it is associated with the festival of Durga Puja……. probably because it grows then. The beauty of this grass is its cottony texture and purity of the color white. As the wind blows through it, it develops into something totally surreal you have to see it to believe it. My favorite pics are having the model amidst this grass. Then ofcourse there is the legendary Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali where the main protagonist Apu runs between this grass to see a train.

This pic took third place in Tina’s PicStory # 32 and was a winner in Simply Silver Sunday.  Thank you very much for choosing my pic. I truly appreciate it!!
